Empowering Voices: Meta’s International Women’s Day Campaign

Overview

Meta needs no introduction. This renowned social networking platform offers a space for connecting friends, finding communities, and growing businesses. Meta has empowered over 3 billion people around the world to share ideas and promote their businesses.

Problem/Goal

Besides providing solutions for people to connect and grow their business, Meta is dedicated to building communitiee and amplifying people’s voices. It is their mission to amplify voices that led them to contacting Astract9 with their International Women’s Day campaign.

The goal was to create an impactful International Women’s Day campaign through interview videos highlighting small businesses run by women on the Meta platform during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Strategy and Approach

Utilizing a two-camera setup, the team shot emotional interviews over three days, capturing the stories of three women who won the SheMeansBusiness program. Additional footage included an interview with Meta’s head of operations and shots of small business owners at work. All videos were edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.

The Final Results

The result was an emotionally charged video showcasing the resilience, determination, and success of women-owned businesses on Meta. This video was posted across Meta social media channels and connected to a wide range of audience, especially women. It was a good work to celebrate women on a day created for them.

Challenges

Astract9 experienced no significant challenge during this project. Every stage, from the interview to the final edits of the video, went smoothly.

Inspiration/Lessons Learnt

Sometimes, people learn more from work. This was the case with the International Women’s Day Project with Meta as it inspired the team to explore new approaches to lighting and audio recording to properly reflect the client’s vision. This also shows our team’s commitment to continuous improvement.
