Dr. Saeed Jumah of The Smile Shop learned about Astract9, and with our history of creating sophisticated digital experiences for brands, we were trusted with designing and developing a website, web app, and android app called “My Dental Pal.”

Overview:

MyDentalPal is the brand child of The Smile Shop and Dr. Saeed Jumah, a one-stop dental service provider dedicated to providing access to quality dental services and a wide range of modern dental accessories.

Challenge/Goal:

The Smile Shop aims to ease access to quality and affordable healthcare services. However, to do this, the company needed to digitize some of its services and functions so that patients could handle their dental worries anywhere at any time.

Dr. Saeed Jumah believed that with the power of technology, he could seamlessly automate and manage the clinic’s appointments and patient management using a custom-built application.

Project Execution:

After learning the details of the situation through a series of meetings with the client and their stakeholders, we designed mockups of what the app will look like. Once the client approved the mockup, we started working on the web application while working closely with him to get feedback and reviews. This ensures our results match his expectations and requirements for the platform.

We deployed the website and web application to the main server so that some of their patients could use it and give feedback. Afterwards, we developed the mobile app using the web application as a guide.

Project Timeline:

70 Business Days. We closed the project after providing three months of support on the website, mobile, and web applications.

Challenges Faced During Execution:

One of the major challenges faced was understanding the client’s needs as he wasn’t very familiar with web or mobile development. Also, he constantly changed his expectations and took time to give feedback, thus hindering the speed of work.

Results:

The client got what he wanted: an easy-to-use website and a dental booking mobile application. With the new platform, the brand can now manage dental appointments, view and send messages to users, review complaints, set reminders for patient appointments and receive payment.

Users can easily visit the website and use the mobile app to register as a patient, create an account, view services offered, subscribe to a dental healthcare plan, and schedule/reschedule appointments. Also, customers can set up an e-wallet to make transactions and save towards healthcare services that may be needed later.

The app currently has over 50+ downloads.

By integrating technology into its brand, MyDentalPal is aiding its vision to be the leading example of providing everyone access to affordable and quality dental healthcare.
